Origin Sciences

Origin Sciences is a privately funded medical technology company based in Cambridge, UK. The innovative work carried out by Origin is focused on the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract with an early focus on colorectal cancer (CRC) diagnostics – set to satisfy a desperate unmet need globally.

Collaborate presents Origin Sciences as part of its MedTech showcase, demonstrating how carefully managed collaboration can refine, accelerate and improve technical developments from conception to implementation.

Origin are on track to launch Oricol™ Preview in 2025. Oricol™ Preview is a diagnostic tool (in vitro diagnostic) that uses the rectal mucus as a rich and informative specimen for a variety of proprietary and highly effective laboratory assays. Origin is also home to the Oricol™ mucus collection device – a minimally invasive clinical test that is paving the way towards a very new era in gastrointestinal disease diagnostics and monitoring.

The innovations and technologies developed by Origin are now being utilised for Ellele Health. Ellele follow the founding principles of Oricol™ Preview but are applied exclusively to women’s health applications.
